MITCHELL COUNTY ABSTRACT COMPANY: 2011 - 2023

Position- Co-owner, Manager. 

Experience: establish and manage legal S-Corporation; manage company finances, insurance, workflow, quality, computer hardware, software, and technical support. Designed and managed the company website, online order form, company logo, letterhead, and invoices.

INTERNSHIP: 2022

Position: Design/Production Assistant to the owner of "CREATE," a small screen-printing business.

Experience: I assisted with the design, production, and retail sale of screen-printed products. I worked for approximately eight months with all aspects of the screen-printing process, from computer design, screen production process, hand press set-up, printing, heat curing, checking for quality, folding, packaging, shipping, and sales.

COTTAGE INTERIORS: 1990 - 2010

Position: owner- length of service- 20 years.

Experience: Owned and operated an interior decorating business, “Cottage Interiors.” Worked closely with a wide variety of clients to design, organize and execute interior design plans for homes and businesses. While operating Cottage Interiors, Jessica acquired experience in coordinating home furnishings: window treatments, floor coverings, furniture, fittings, art, and decor. Cottage Interiors also provided color consulting services. 

 

ROOM FOR ME PROGRAM: nonprofit organization 2009 - 2019

Position: founder/director. length of service, ten years. 

Experience: Founded and organized a nonprofit organization, “Room for Me.” Room for Me provided bedroom makeovers for underserved children in need. Worked closely with a board of directors to organize fundraisers, recruit volunteers, select candidates, and work closely with children and families.

Essential skills: plan and establish a nonprofit organization; recruit board members and volunteers. Apply for grants and organize fundraisers; distribute applications and select candidates; work closely with children and families to assess needs and formulate design plans. Procure supplies and furnishings subject to design and budget requirements and restraints.
